Hi,

I thing ftape 4.02 won\'t compile with 2.2.x kernels. You need ftape 4.03...

I can\'t tell you. The ftape homepage should have the most up-to-date info on
supported drives (I don\'t have the URL handy, but look for it in the
ftape-HOWTO).

Did the compile exit successfully?

Not quite. It means that you forgot to insert the module(s) :-)

Try using the insert script in the ftape/modules directory. Edit it to suit your
tape drive needs (you need the ftape and zftape modules, as well as the module
for parallel port drives). Execute the script and verify that the 3 modules have
been successfully loaded (\"lsmod\").

Good luck!
