Hi Chaps,
Just call me stupid.
I have been using an iomega ditto max to backup under slackware 3.6 for a
while. It was a bit flakey at times but did the job ok (with a little
patience).
In order to get it working properly, I needed a patch for the kernel.
I have moved to slackware 4.0 (kernel 2.2.6) and would like to use the same
setup. However, I cannot get the beasty to compile. I believe you do not
need the patch for 2.2 kernels.
I am using Ftape 4.02.
When I compile, it breaks with the message
fdc-io.c: structure has no member named 'timeout'
I have tried compiling under slackware 7.0 and I get the same problem.
Am I being termanally stupid or is there a fix for this and I cannot even
get of the starting blocks here.
I have no soundcard in the machine.
Friedrich, I have just seen your answer to a previous question and think
that will be very useful although I have an older kernel. Unfortunatley,
moving to a newer kernel from 2.2.6 is not really an option at the moment.
I feel I need a kernel patch or something as I cannot even compile the ftape
applications, let alone integrate with the kernel.
Help would be most appreciated!!
Thank, Clive
