Hi,
I'm using a DITTO Max 10GB-Tapedrive with a 2.0 Kernel (SuSE Linux 6.0,
based on ReadHat) and have already installed the Ftape-Tools 4.02, which
should be the most recent version.
Everything works with small backups, I have completed all the tests
suggested in the HOWTO, but when I try to backup a great amount of data
(with 'tar -cvf /dev/qft0),
I get lots of overrun-errors in the syslog-file, and the backup don't
run.
The software tries to increase the FIFO-threshold, and claims that it
could not increase the threshold any more. Then, the backup-software
crashes, and the system tells me (via syslog) something about many
IO-Errors, and, as said, many overruns.
I hope someone can help me?
I haven't included a syslog-output here to prevent overloading of the
mailing list, but when it helps, I can of course send one.
With best regards, and thanks for reading and helping,
Harald.
