This patch has made quite a difference for me also, thanks so much!! I
was able to create and verify a 1.6 gig tape after applying it.
My next attempt did not go so well. I was attempting to create a backup
of 30 gigs, at one point I attempted to change the screen saver settings
and froze up my X session, mouse and all. The machine was not locked up
however as I could reach it via telnet. I have restarted this backup
(after rebooting the machine), and will see what happens with a more
"hands off" approach. I have not had my X-session lock up like this
before installing the onstream, so I am guessing it's related somehow.
Best Regards,
Robert Laughlin
