Here is what I know, it ain't much but here it goes.
VA Linux is NOT a distribution. They are/sell
pre-configured Intel boxes with Linux running on them.
They specialize in large Beowulf Clusters. I spoke
with them at the Super Computing Conference in
Portland in Nov 99. Very Cool Stuff!
I don't think that they use any specific distribution,
but rather a custom pick with a heavily tweaked kernel
optimized for minimum network latency.
That is what I know
