No, I said that this can be done for the 2.5 tree.  The current method
in 2.4 and 2.2 will stay the way it is today.  This is too much of a
change to introduce in a stable kernel series.

Adding the firmware download packages to the linux-hotplug package is a
fine place for it in the future.
