Actually the hub/infrastructure changes do seem quite safe (more so
than some changes that did get into 2.4.4 :) so it'd seem reasonable
to get those into Linus tree. Not essential, of course, but updating
such interfaces early (vs later) can help smooth later work. In this
case, giving folk the choice to try Linus' or Alan's kernels; and also
helping Alan get the safer USB updates out of his tree!
But I agree that the EHCI support isn't ready to integrate in any
major tree yet. The HCD framework needs other controllers
to use it (what will change?), and that's clearly 2.5 stuff.
