From what I heard that the usb code is the same design as the Windows NT
environment. Most likely its not the same code as win9x operating system.

It would be nice if someone migrated the usb sniffer stuff for the NT
envirionment.

Since I run Windows 2000.

The compression scheme used for the Nagotech usbvision seems to be
mjpeg. It would make sense because it's very well known and there is
a lot of third party people that have modules/code. Nagotech most likely just
purchase a third party modules to use with there products. Most manufactures
do
not go out and design something from scratch anymore.

You could possibly take a look at the prices of their products. The prices are
pretty low to recover a complete R&D on their own compression design.

At least I have another name that someone is willing to help. I would love to
get the compression working. The driver does stream when it's set to
compressed
mode. I do get 31fps, but it's all garbage. At least when I move my hand in
front
of the camera. The ouptut does display some sort of shadow of movement.

You want to get started on the compression stuff?

Subject: [linux-usb-devel] usb snoopy

Hi
I am trying to use usb snoopy on Windows ME to see what data is sent to a
usb video capture adaptor. This is based on the nogatech USBVISION chip and
bt829. I am not able to sniff any packets as the driver refuses to work when
the usb snoopy driver is loaded. Has any one had any better luck at this ? I
think that if it gets working , it can used to figure out the compression
system that Nogatech's USBVISION chip uses.
