Maybe Brad can do that ... unless you won't count a "works for me"
from _either_ of the developers who had a hand in this?  :)

It's long been a problem that most patches won't ever get that kind
of acknowledgement.  Only pressing bugfixes seem to get them
with any regularity.

Unless you get a "works for me on 2.4 too" from someone.  I don't like
release cycles to be stretched out very long, and holding patches
back just means that applying the next fix gets troublesome.
