http://linux-hotplug.sf.net has a tool called fxload that can load firmware 
images for FX and FX2 devices (maybe original EZ-USB as well, now).

If you want to create firmware (rather than just using the Keil tools that 
probably came with your kit, look at sdcc (http://sdcc.sf.net).
