Hi there. Is this the right list on which to ask about the status of support for specific USB devices? In case it is, I'm asking about the following devices:
1. A friend of mine has a USB "Pen Camera" whose box labels it as being the "Trio PenCam VGA" and is running the recently released Red Hat Linux 7.3 distribution as it comes out of the box. The specifications panel on the box states the following: Sensor Type: Color VGA (640x480) CMOS Image Sensor Interface Type: USB Port Image Performance for VideoStream: 9 fps for QVGA (320x240 Pixels) 3 fps for VGA (640x480 Pixels) Memory & Images SDRAM 64bit: 26 Pictures for VGA (640x480 Pixels) 107 Pictures for QVGA (320x240 Pixels) TN LCD Display: Hr = VGA Mode Lr = QVGA Mode Battery Low Status = Display Blinking St = Self Timer (10 Seconds) Ct = Continuous Mode CL = Clear All Pictures Dimensions: 5.0" x 1.2" x 0.9" Battery: 1.5Vx2 (AAA) USB Power: When connected to USB Port, PC can drive its power from camera View Angle: 54 Degrees Personally, I hope that statement under "USB Power" is just a case of bad English, as I would hate to drive any PC from a camera like this one for any length of time. 2. I have a serial digital camera (the Fuji MX2700), and have obtained a USB reader for the SmartMedia cards that it takes. This reader came in a plain white box with nothing but the price sticker on it, and no manual inside, and has the following written on it: On the topside: LEXAR Media On the bottom: For more information: www.digitalfilm.com SmartMedia Reader Do not remove card if LED is blinking. Insert card as shown. Patent Pending in US and other countries. Lexar Media Part No. RW009. For Home or Office Use. Made in China. I normally use this (under Windows XP on my wife's computer) with the 32M SMartMedia cards that I use with my digital camera. I would appreciate any guidance as to whether either of these is known to be supported under Linux, and what I could do to help to add support for either of these if they are not currently supported. Best wishes from Riley. _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-devel
