Thanks to Takashi Iwai of the ALSA project the Linux community now has support for the Maudio USB Quattro 4 channel soundcard and the Emagic 2/4.
At this point the driver can access all the 4 output channels at upto 16bit/48Khz. 24bit operation is not yet supported due to the card having an unusual byte format of 3 instead of 4bytes-packed format. Work is being done to extend alsa-lib to allow for this format along with 18bit and 20bit. 96kHz itself is supported (e.g. on Emagic 2|4) but not on Quattro. On Quattro, it's combined with 24bit format (see above). Currently the input channels for the Quattro are not fully supported due to the Quattro not having internal mixer support. Work is being domne to allow capture from the devices. -- Patrick Shirkey - Boost Hardware Ltd.
