If the VID/PID or some other descriptor element changes after the first
'reset', then you could possibly create a mini-driver that would
identify the 'original' configuration, download the ROM, then set a timer
for a later reset.  The 'real' driver would then bind to the new descriptor
configuration.

Ugly, but workable.
