What I meant is JE mentioned BW should be reserved per-endpoint, not per-URB. I extended that to suggest an actual API for drivers that reserves on a per-endpoint basis, without requiring any URBs to actually be pending. Like: reserve_bandwidth(hcd, dev, pipe); ... <user application uses pipe intermittently> ... <user or driver no longer needs to use pipe> release_bandwidth(hcd, dev, pipe); So the bandwidth reservation isn't tied to pipe usage. My impression is that is what JE was suggesting. -- Dan Streetman [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------- 186,272 miles per second: It isn't just a good idea, it's the law! ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-devel
