We're referring to the usb audio stopping, right? Yes it happens with the alsa driver (although I haven't tested it in .49, only earlier versions). It's much less likely with one processor, but I did get it to occur. On a SMP setup, it dies every time I close Netscape (that's an odd one). Other than that, it seems to die at random after some period of use, if I avoid closing Netscape. > - what was the first kernel that you saw had this problem? The audio problem is in all kernels, including 2.4.19, as far as I know. The sysrq problem I can't say, I haven't tried it until recently. > > Also, more info please about 'sysrq is oopsing' ... just that > function (T)? And what was the urb unlink error that used to > show up in the system log? I sent off a report on the oops to the kernel list, here's a link: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=103819921414569&w=2 I just tried it again and have a couple problems. Before loading modules, it doesn't seem to do anything for the status commands (m, p, t) other than print a title line. However, the action commands (sync, remount r/o, boot) seem to work fine. I also tried it with only one of the modules listed in my previous mail, sound.o, and then it doesn't oops, and still doesn't print any info. The unlink error looked like this: Sep 15 02:48:53 sea kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout Sep 15 02:48:54 sea kernel: usb-ohci.c: unlink URB timeout (while running ALSA on a 2.4.19 kernel. Versions of 2.5 prior to 2.5.45 when the modules broke and audio.o was still loadable behaved the same way.) -- Kevin ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Get the new Palm Tungsten T handheld.
