Hello,

I had been running linux kernel 2.5.47-ac6 [the -ac6 patch contains no
changes to drivers/usb] and successfully set up my new USB printer.
Loading usblp.o gave these kernel messages:

drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 3 if 0 alt 0 proto 3
vid 0x03F0 pid 0x0711
drivers/usb/core/usb.c: registered new driver usblp
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: v0.12: USB Printer Device Class driver

I recently upgraded to 2.5.58, and usblp.ko no longer finds usblp0. I
just get these messages:

drivers/usb/core/usb.c: registered new driver usblp
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: v0.13: USB Printer Device Class driver

I tried "#define DEBUG" in usblp.c, but that does not generate any
additional output. The printer is listed as the last device in
/proc/bus/usb/devices, but it has "Driver=(none)". I also tried copying
2.5.47-ac6's usblp.c over to 2.5.58 and recompiling, but it still doesn't
find usblp0. My USB controller is the VIA VT8233A, using the uhci_hcd.ko
module.

Any suggestions on how to proceed would be much appreciated as I'm a bit
baffled by this.

Cheers,
Wayne
