Hi Eric, This may be the "blind leading the blind" since I am a newbie in this group but here goes.
I have the same problem with a device from one of Labjack's competitors. My device is an ADU200 from Ontrak Control Systems. It has only one configuration that enumerates as a HID interface. Just like the Labjack it has only Control and Interrupt end-points for communication. There is no Bulk end-point in the device. It appears that all of the standard Linux drivers require a bulk end-point even though the USB spec does not require one. Interrupt-out end-points were added in USB 1.1 and both the Labjack and the Ontrak devices utilize them. I ended up writing my own driver that runs under Kernel 2.5.54 (and finally it works right) The driver should be easy to modify for the Labjack device. (and perhaps the driver MIGHT be portable to Linux 2.4.20 without too much trouble.) If you are interested perhaps we can share the coding and testing work necessary to bring these drivers up to production quality.
