After recompiling and checking again I can't reproduce the problems neither with libusb nor the scanner driver. I did create a device node manually (180/0) for testing. Maybe there was a typo in the mknod command or something like that. Now it works. Same for the libusb trouble. No problems anymore, even with dynamic minors turned on and devfs turned off. Just ignore my report :-) Anyway, maybe add a line of warning to the dynamic minors help in Kconfig?
