Very interesting... so that approach _does_ help with error recovery, at 
least on your device.  Probably on a lot of other Compact Flash readers 
too; I've seen a number of other people report the same kind of errors 
that you have been getting with the MODE-SENSE commands.

All the more reason for us to get Andries Brouwer's updates; they will do 
away with usb_stor_scsiSense10to6() and related routines.
