In my attempts to do something like this, when the install program asks about hard drives to install to or when it asks about other drivers to be loaded, I've had to switch to another virtual console and load the usb-storage driver. Then the install program would allow me to install to the USB hard drive. Yes, fdisk on it worked also. (However, I never was able to boot from it, although I can boot [DOS] from a USB floppy drive.) I don't think that you need a kernel patch or kernel command line argument to install to a USB hard drive. ~Randy ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: eBay Get office equipment for less on eBay! http://adfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/711-11697-6916-5 _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-devel
