I couldn't make sense of the cset directory, so I took the bk8 snapshot. I still can't do anything useful with the harddrive -- it mounts ok, but then after the first few accesses the disk stops (the activity light goes dark) while the computer waits (with a system load of 2) for the data to come in. After some time (30sec or so) this gets written to the log: > scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery: host 2 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 > SCSI disk error : <2 0 0 0> return code = 0x6050000 > end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 47975616 > Buffer I/O error on device sda1, logical block 5996948 > SCSI disk error : <2 0 0 0> return code = 0x70000 > end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 5816 > journal-601, buffer write failed The last line (and the oops that comes afterwards) come from reiserfs, which is very unhappy with the situation as I can imagine.
