Hi,
I'm wondering if someone can help me out here, I have the following
problem, but it seems to only exist on vanilla 2.4 kernels. My 2.6 works
fine, and so do my Suse and Mandrake 2.4 kernels.
What is happening?
I'm running X in dualhead mode (2 Nvidia based cards), and shortly
after startup my usb mouse stops working. In /var/log/messages
I see a line:
"ehci-q.c: can't resubmit interrupt urb df60cc4c: status -32"
I do have quite an extensive usb setup, I have an asus A7M266-D
board with 2 onboard usb ports (unused), and accompanying USB2
card.
Connected to the USB2 card are 1 set of Philips based stereo speakers,
an ST-Lab USB2 hub, a Maxxtro USB1.1 hub, and a Freecom IDE->USB2
bridge with a Pioneer IDE DVD drive.
Connected to the ST-Lab hub are 2 logitec optical mice, a gravis gamepad
and a sitecom ps2->usb converter.
To the Maxxtro I have connected a (poweredoff) epson 1290 printer, and a
(also poweredoff) epson perfection 640u scanner.
I'm running a fresh gentoo 1.4 system, and tried with a 2.4.23-pre8 kernel,
a 2.4.23-rc5 kernel, and a plain 2.4.23 kernel. All with the same results.
I've tried with speakers poweredoff, still same result.
Haven't tried with the mouse connected straight to the USB2 card yet, will
try that next :-)
I'm quite curious what said message actually means? What is happening
when this is printed? Is it something related to the ST-Lab hub? Or my
USB2 card? Or could it be some other hardware that is sharing the same
interrupt line that gets in the way (one of the nvidia cards is on the same
irq as the ehci binds to, the other nvidia card is on the same irq as the ohci
binds to)? I've tried both nv driver as nvidia propriatary driver with same
results...
Is there something else I can do to track down this problem?
Kind regards,
Mark
