Rebuilding the kernel fixed the mismatch problem, however the hotplug issue still exists, any idea's?
There's a change in 2.6.1-rc1 that should eliminate the need, which 2.6.0 had, to
# echo 2 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/.../bConfigurationValue
for devices (which yours) which have a WinModem configuration followed by a standard CDC one. (It just avoids making the default configuration on Linux use vendor-specific protocols, when vendor-neutral optiosn are available.)
