The max_sectors thing will work under 2.4 as well.  You have to find the
section in scsiglue.c where usb_stor_host_template is defined (search for
"sg_tablesize"), and add a line that says:

        max_sectors:            128,

The slight difference in formatting from the 2.6 patch is the result of a
change in programming style since 2.4 came out.
