Two questions:
1. is something known about a usb driver for epson receipt printer m129c?
2. which reasons ar possible for the message "already running port x disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...". Is it always electromagnetic interference?
Not always. Anything with an external power source that is attached to the computer is suspect. I used to get these errors constantly until I discovered that a VCR was leaking 90 VAC through the composite video connection to my computer. The AC adapter on my USB hard drive was doing a similar thing.
Aside from being a shock hazard, these stray voltages can cause an electrical potential between the ground connections of various hardware components. Without a good ground reference, most data busses cannot work reliably.
You can use an AC/DC voltmeter to check for ground problems:
- Connect one probe to a good ground point on your computer. Something on the chassis that isn't painted should work.
- Unplug all connections into your computer (except for the AC cord), but leave all equipment turned on.
- Use the other probe to check for AC or DC voltages on the metal shell (or ground pin, if you know it) of all the cables you disconnected. Any cable that is very long or connects two computers is *highly* suspect. You can skip cables for devices with no other external wiring of any kind. Also, check the outer ring of AC adapter cables (or the center pin, if it is marked as ground or minus).
Anything above 0.5V is a possible problem.
