Greetings,
I've got a Tyan S2460 mobo and USB doesn't work with it. The board uses
the "Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] AMD-766 [ViperPlus]". The USB
interface doesn't work with either a 2.4.x kernel or a 2.6.6 kernel.
I've seen some statements that the USB support in this chipset is
broken. Is that correct?
It's my understanding that early versions of the AMD-760MP chipset
didn't have working OHCI; there's some erratum. Later MPX versions
do have working OHCI. Forward me "lspci -vv" info for your chipset
and I can use it to resolve this FIXME in host/ohci-pci.c:
/* FIXME for some of the early AMD 760 southbridges, OHCI
* won't work at all. blacklist them.
*/
Or if you're into it, provide a patch against 2.6.6! Read the
AMD errata docs to see how to distinguish those revs from the
ones that work.
