No, it would have to go in a separately allocated block. The problem, of course, is that the URB will often complete and be reused before the timer expires or can be cancelled. The block will have to contain the timer, a pointer to the URB, copies of the original context and complete pointers, and one or two bitflags. The whole thing is a bit awkward, but not much more so than the current code in message.c -- although that code has the simplifying advantage of always running in process context.
