I am using the Trust 380 USB2.0 Spacecam (Vendor string is APLUX). This works with the ovfx2 driver (version 2.28 from the ov511 package) after fixing a few bugs.
I am also experimenting with two aplux mu-35 usb2.0 cams, but have failed so far to get them to work at all (with ovfx2 2.28 & kernel 2.6.7-ck6mh4).
May I ask you, what bugfixes you applied?
Also: Have you resolved your issue regarding the disconnects?
