I'll include it; there's another patch of Alex's that I want to test too (for a problem Al Borchers reported, and I think I've probably seen too -- system hang).
I finally found some time to test out Alex's patch. It fixed the problem I was seeing. I as able to disconnect/reconnect my Net2280 EVB board many times without it getting stuck and needing a power cycle.
Thanks Alex!
Great, glad that solved your problem.
I tested in 2.6.9-rc1. The patch did not apply cleanly there, and I had to merge by hand. It was not clear how to merge in a new line that was not there when Alex made his patch--the line with CLEAR_CONTROL_STATUS_PHASE_HANDSHAKE--so I left that line out.
Yes, the line referring to CLEAR_CONTROL_STATUS_PHASE_HANDSHAKE was removed by a patch I sent out on 8/13. That patch fixed a couple issues with respect to getting thru USB and WHQL compliance tests (there were a couple other changes in there as well). I'm not sure where that patch is with regard to 2.6.9.
Let me know if there is more testing I can do.
Nothing specific comes to mind, just keep me posted if you run into any issues. I'm glad to see this driver get some more testing.
regards, alex
