. Hi Alan and Group,
Alan, you have suggested that the Central part of the USB STACK can be found at the path 'drivers/usb/core'. But this 'core' folder exists in linux 2.6 and not in linux 2.4. As I am using linux 2.4 can I copy the 'CORE' folder or the whole of USB folder from Linux 2.6 to linux 2.4 and use it. Can anybody please tell me whether this part of the code is backward compatible? Alan, you have also suggested about an alternate mass storage driver in drivers/block/ub.c, but I couldn't find either ub.c or usb.c at the specified location in linux 2.4. And linux 2.6 doesn't contain the 'blocks' folder at all. Can anybody suggest anything in this regard. You can find the USB stack and host controller drivers for Linux in the drivers/usb directory of the kernel source. The central parts of the stack are in drivers/usb/core and the controller drivers are in drivers/usb/host. There's a USB mass storage driver in drivers/usb/storage, but it relies on the SCSI core. There's also an alternate mass storage driver in drivers/block/ub.c.
