In Windows there are 2 devices created to 1 on the USB root hubs.  One is a
modem and the other is a Kyocera Control port.  I've used a serial monitor
on the control port when VZWs access manager is running and there is
definitely communication when the application is running.  There isn't any
communication when VZWs access mgr isn't running even during a data
connection.  

The output of the console on the screen doesn't have the correct baud
setting so the text isn't clear.  There are IOCTL_SERIAL_GET_COMMSTATUS
requests every second.  About every 10-15 secs there is a response in the
from of W24,99 or F22,99.  These are strikingly similar to the output of the
AT+CSQ.

There device driver in windows is kwkxusb.
