Hi, Well it's very strange, but it seems the problem is physical. I was said tha]s very rare, and the person who made my computer doesn't understand. I'll do a new check with Windows, to see if USB is known. If it is, problem isn't physical. Anyway if it is it's happent for a short time, since 2 years ago, I could install updates VIA for USB on Windows, before using Linux. Before checking on Windows and buying my controller, I think I'll build the last release of the kernel to see if something changes. Maybe the kernel has a problem, doesn't have a piece of information about USB for VIA. I was said too that VIA isn't easy to make work on Linux. But my question now is about the controller PCI USB: I was said that on Windows, a driver is necessary, it'son a CD-ROM. I think there's not any driver for Linux on this CD. So, how does Linux deals with such controllers? What options do I have to build to see this controller supported? How can I do? Do I have to choose a specific controller, supported by the kernel?
Thanks for information. Sincerely, JP ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop!
