Hello I have an M-Audio (Fast Track Pro) USB device and I'd like to improve the usb driver to support this device.
The problem I'd like to ask the usb-devel list for is the following: This device has two configurations: Config 1 (this ist chosen by default) Is class compliant Audio interface and support standard 16-Bit Audio Config 2 Is also class compliant (it claims to be) and has more available alternate settings. Thes are used for 24Bit Audio see alsa-devel list for detailled device description http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=36140571 I'd like so setup something that the configuration will automatically be chosen after plugin of the device. In the linux/usb.h header it is said, thet a device driver not attempt to activate configurations. So my question is where is the right place to do this? I think a patch for the hub.c (where the default configuration is chosen) would also be a bad Idea? Becaus the hub.c would make decisions depending on vendor and device ID. Or is there a user space configuration to influence this decision? Regards, Peter Oehry ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
