Yes, and ifconfig eth1 down, ifconfig eth1 up, will fix the condition. This is 100% repeatable, I tried it about five times. On initial insertion the link is not ready, ifconfig up/down clears the problem. So it appears to be something with the first time the driver initializes. > > Here it works: > > % /sbin/ifconfig eth2 > eth2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:00:00:1C:16 > inet addr:10.0.0.5 Bcast:10.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0 > UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 > RX packets:390640 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 > TX packets:580141 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 > collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 > RX bytes:26031463 (24.8 MiB) TX bytes:638388028 (608.8 MiB) > > -- > Bye, Peter Korsgaard > > -- Jon Smirl [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
