Probably. But it's mostly a function of the bridge chip, and the fact that
some ATAPI devices act a little strangely.

Good question. I'm guessing that cdrecord -scanbus are more accurate as to
the internals of your device, as that data actually comes from the CD-RW,
across the bridge.

Based on these errors, I'd say re-fixate the CD. Tho I'm no expert on CD
burning... but it looks like the drive did something strange, not the usb
transport mechanism...
Who knows. If you find any sort of pattern, let me know.
BTW, you should be using cdrecord-1.10a4 or later.
