Device (vend/prod 0x7ab/0xfc01) is not new. I believe it is a private label version of the Freecom Traveller II (http://www.freecom.com/). I had limited success getting my VST drive (same vend/prod id) to work. Reads dirs and small files as cdrom, but goes into a tailspin (hangs in race condition) reading larger files or write simulation. You need Freecom support compiled into usb-storage (probably need to enable new and experimetal drivers in kernel config). But I cannot find any docs about status of Freecom support or what is needed to make it work reliably. It does work fine writing Linux generated iso files in Win98se.
