Hi. I've got what I think is a simple problem, but I haven't been
able to solve this myself.

I have a Netpliance Iopener that I've hacked to run Jailbait Linux
(http://jailbait.sourceforce.net). The jailbait distribution is based
on Linux kernel 2.4.0-test1, and includes some usb support. I'd like
to attach an Iomega zip100 usb drive to the machine. When I do this,
it appears to correctly recognize the drive, but I never see an
/dev/sd* device that I can mount. I've booted the machine with a disk
in the drive, and the zipdisk is formatted FAT16. Here is a relevant
portion of the boot log:

scsi : 0 hosts.
usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
scsi : 1 host.
Vendor: IOMEGA Model: ZIP 100 Rev: 11.V
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured
USB Mass Storage device found at 2
USB Mass Storage support registered.

lsmod shows that usb-storage and scsi_mod are both loaded, and both
/proc/scsi/usb-storage-0/0 and /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/ get
created.

I think I'm close. I'm a relative newbie to linux, so I'm probably
missing something obvious. Can anyone suggest what it might be? How
about some things to try? At this point, I'd like to avoid a kernel
upgrade unless it's necessary, so working with what I have would be
more helpful.

Thanks for any help you can provide. -wah
