Seagate STT6201U-R tape drive using kernel 2.4.3 on a i686. The drive shows
up in /proc/scsi/scsi and is listed in /proc/scsi/usb-storage-0, but
attempted write commands using tar -cvf /dev/st0 produce the following
errors in /var/log/messages, and death for the kernel (at least in the
active terminal).
kernel: st0: Error with sense data: [valid=0] Info fld=0x0, Current st09:00:
sense key Illegal Request
kernel: Additional sense indicates Invalid command operation code
Here's the /proc/scsi/scsi, /proc/scsi/usb-storage-0/1, and
/proc/bus/usb/devices:

And, just in case, the results of:

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I will summarize responses.
