Hi there,

i bought a IBM PC camera model 3(ibm net camera) &
model 4( ibm pc camera).

i was trying to make it work on a red hat linux 7.0
kernel 2.4.2.

i got the latest drivers for xawtv version is 3.43
and the drivers for ibmpc camera are a week old ...i
got them from CVS at sourceforge

THESE ARE THE MESSAGES WHEN I FIRST PLUGGED IN THE
CAMERA

hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned
device number 3
usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x545/0x8080) is not
claimed by any active driver

OUTPUT OF /sbin/lsmod
[root@localhost ibmcam]# /sbin/lsmod

videodev 5344 0 [ibmdrv]

AFTER I LOADED THE IBM DRRIVERS AS MODULES, I GOT
THESE MESSAGES

VFS: Disk change detected on device ide1(22,64)

when i run xawtv i get the following errors

[root@localhost ibmcam]# xawtv

i did try xawtv -remote option but to no use...

i disconnected the camera and waited for few minutes
and reconnected it.

the following messages were generated:

uhci.c: root-hub INT complete: port1: 93 port2: 80
data: 2
hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned

usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=4

i had to reboot the system to make it recognise the
camera and one more thing is that the camera light
glows for a second when i run xawtv , this is in case
of the model 4 camera but for a model 3 camera the
light stays on and i was unable to remove the ibmdrv
module, i had to reboot the system.

can you please suggest me how to solve the problem.
thanks

kodela
