Hi, running Red Hat 7.0 COMPAQ Armada E500. Xfree86 4.01a. USB mouse worked out of the box except .. when on battery if I only use the mouse (browsing/reading) without touching the keyboard the screen blanks every three minutes. Pressing a key brings it back. This doesn't happen when on mains power. In windows, all the power saving options are set the same for battery and power (i.e. no blanking or hibernating etc.). I have a screensaver (for fun) set to come on every 10 minutes (not 3) and not use power options so it isn't that. The only thing I can think of is perhaps there's some default setting for apm that is different for batteries and power but I can't find anything relevant (have looked in /etc/stsconfig/apmd) or something similar for X (not using the dpms options and in any case I don't think the defaults for these are anything like 3 mins). Can anyone help ? andy _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
