I have two usb printers, a Brother HL-1250 and a HP 840C and have a large
problem with them, when I boot up it seems to be a matter of chance which
is found first on the USB bus and which therefore is assigned /dev/usb/lp0
and which gets /dev/usb/lp1. Obviously this is making setting up my print
queues a nightmare as I have to keep changing them whenever I reboot and
the printers get re-assigned. So, how (if at all) do I get the kernel to
always assign a particular printer to a given port?
Thanks
Dan
