Hello !
I alos have the Fuji Finepix 1400 Zoom and was having the same trouble. The
probelem is the difference between the stock 2.4.x kernels USB mass storage
code and the code in the ac kernel series.
I got it working by applying a tipp from the usb-list:
1) Get the stock 2.4.4 kernel
2.) Apply the patch for the Casio-QV
3.) Change the file unusual-devs.h in drivers/usb/storage
4.) recompile the lernel
5.) Voila ! It works flawlessly ! (at least for me !!)
