Hi all: I queried about this problem a couple of days ago and noone rose to the challenge so I'll try one more time. I'm not sure what makes this device different from other iomega ones, except for getting power from the USB bus. My 2GB jaz drive works fine. When I plug it in it lights briefly (as it should, I believe) and "dmesg" returns: USB Mass Storage device found at 4 When I type "cat /proc/scsi/scsi" I get Attached devices: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: QUANTUM Model: ATLAS 10K 9WLS Rev: UC81 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 03 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00 Vendor: QUANTUM Model: ATLAS 10K 9WLS Rev: UC81 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 03 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00 Vendor: iomega Model: jaz 2GB Rev: E.17 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00 Vendor: NEC Model: CD-ROM DRIVE:466 Rev: 1.06 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 and it is not listed (the jaz 2GB is a fixed internal one - I have a separate portable one for my notebook). I run the stock Mandrake 8.0.
