Hi there,

First of all, I am not a Linux expert but am reasonably comfortable
with it. I am (unsuccessfully so far) trying to setup a scanner
(Nikon coolscan LS-40) under kernel 2.4.2-2 in a i686. The scanner
seems to be probed ok according to /proc/bus/usb/devices. Now the
issue is that I cannot make the scanner to operate. I followed the
instructions in www.sane.org and www.linux-usb.org setting up the
driver and config files but nothing happens. The problem persists
using vuescan (www.hamrick.com).

Please help!

Thanks,

Marcelo
