[Linux-usb-users] USB Modem

Hi,
 
I am a beginner and am having trouble setting up my USB modem. Is there some type of generic driver that I can download or something? Or is it possible to let it choose "COM 4"?
 
Please note: My modem does not have Linux RedHat drivers supplied with it.
