o My Sony DSC-75 digital camera has been working perfectly (read-only
mount, at least) under a patched 2.4.6-ac2 for two months now.
o I compiled and booted 2.4.9 because I need some webcam video.
Never got around to trying it because regression testing shows the
Sony digicam is now broken.
o Log messages (available upon request) at `modprobe usb-uhci` and
camera turnon are identical with both kernels. But at `mount
/mnt/camera`, 2.4.6-ac2 works, logging:
Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi1, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
SCSI device sda: 126848 512-byte hdwr sectors (65 MB)
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 2015
sda: test WP failed, assume Write Enabled
sda:<7>usb-storage: queuecommand() called
sda1
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 2042
modprobe: Can't locate module nls_iso8859-1
o On 2.4.9 `mount /mnt/camera` hangs, logging:
Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi1, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
SCSI device sda: 126848 512-byte hdwr sectors (65 MB)
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 179
usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
o I didn't quite understand your advice to Arjan Filius back around
9/2/01. Is the current patch just to remove the US_FL_MODE_XLATE
flag in the unusual_devs.h entry, or is there more? Does 2.4.9
work, or do I need a 2.4.9-acX or 2.4.10-preX if such exist?
