I can not say for the other distributions, but I have just unplugged my 'Logitech MouseMan Wheel USB' and replugged it without any problems from my RedHat 7.2 box. syslog sees the following: [start] Oct 25 20:26:33 calm-horizons kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 4 Oct 25 20:26:37 calm-horizons kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2/4, assigned device number 5 Oct 25 20:26:37 calm-horizons kernel: input1: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Logitech USB Mouse] on usb1:5.0 [end] What kind of USB mouse is it and what does the section 'InputDevice' for the mouse contain? What do you see in your logfiles (/var/log/messages in general) Can you check if the module 'mousedv' is loaded prior and after switching with the KVM (witch 'lsmod') and if reloading the module (with 'rmmod' and then 'modprobe', see the man pages for details) makes a difference. You may also want to check if your KVM supports a 'reset inputs' feature, AFAIK some do. -- ------------------------ http://www.pcfe.de/ ----------------------- Patrick C. F.
