Gday My hp 4100c scanner recently died. I replaced it with an epson 1650 photo based on a little research.
the new unit works fine on my uniprocessor athlon / a7m266 mb with 2.4.15 (patched for umount) + xsane but does not function at all on my main box, a SMP 2x733 PIII on MS6321 mb (via chipset) running 2.4.12ac5 , 2.4.16 or 2.4.17pre2. bucketloads of kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout followed by kernel: scanner.c: read_scanner(0): excessive NAK's received messages in syslog, unit just hangs in there whith scanimage -d epson:/dev/usb/scanner0 no difference between uhci and usb-uhci any suggestions as to how I can debug this issue. regards, john _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
