I'll try this one, although like I said before, I have  tried all
combonations of net/simple and /dev/usb/tts/[0,1] so I don't forsee this
making any change in what I've already seen.

when you say this is what you use, what type of PDA are you using it
with?  contrary to the subject line I'm working with a SONY Clie
PEG-T415 (brand new model).  The only thing I can think of at this point
is a change in protocol for it or something.
