Due to PCMCIA problems with my Toshiba laptop and RedHat 7.2, I bought
a Linksys Etherfast 10/100 USB Network Adapter. The model number is
100TX and after plugging it in and looking in /proc/bus/usb/devices it
says

Vendor=066b ProdID=400b Rev= 1.01

However, the lights on the device never light up and a messages shows
in /var/log/messages:

kernel: pegasus.c: eth0: Linksys USB USB10TX
kernel: pegasus.c: setup Pegasus II specific registers
kernel: pegasus.c: eth0: link NOT established (0x7849) - check the cable

The cable and hub that I'm using are fine.

I've tried searching the archives for this list but didn't come across
anything with enough detail to see if I'm working with a new version of
an existing device, a brand new device or have a kernel version problem.

Thank you,
Colin Kuskie
